Non-Resident Students

This year, our Board adopted policy JBCC: The Enrollment of Non-Resident Students as required by Kansas law. This policy requires the district to allow students who live in other districts to enroll in our schools if capacity allows. Capacity numbers are pre-determined based on current student enrollment. Class size as well as program capacity limits are taken into consideration. We are currently working to determine our capacities and to adhere to the required deadlines below:

  • May 31 – our capacities must be posted on our website

  • June 1-30 – we accept applications from any non-resident student who wishes to enroll

  • July 10 – if necessary (ie., if more students apply than we have the capacity for), hold a lottery to determine who is accepted

  • July 12 – notify non-resident students of the enrollment decision
