How is the prize money distributed in ITF $25,000?
This basically means that the entire $25,000 is to be distributed amongst the 32 players that qualify for the main draw. The winner of an ITF $25,000 receives a modest #3,600 for his/her efforts, which is in all honesty not a lot of money taking into account the expenses a player has to bear.
The Men's Tour includes tournaments with prize money of either $US15,000 or $25,000. The results of ITF tournaments are incorporated into the ATP ranking, which enables professionals to progress to the ATP Challenger Tour and ATP Tour, and ultimately the Grand Slams.
Professional tennis players are paid according to their performance in a tournament. Before a tennis tournament starts, the organization establishes the prize money breakdown (how much the champion, runner-up, semi-finalists, etc., will make). ATP/WTA 250
This is the lowest level of Tour level tennis on both the ATP and WTA tours. It offers a maximum of 250 ranking points (280 on the WTA).
The main difference between ITF and ATP tournaments lies in the level of competition and the number of ranking points awarded. ATP tournaments are generally considered to offer more ranking points than ITF tournaments.
